At First, I Thought It Was Just Something I Had To Live With.
It did not begin with me trying supplements. It began with the knee quietly changing how I moved.
The first few steps in the morning felt stiff. I started holding the railing without even thinking about it.
Getting up from a low chair took a little more effort. Longer walks became something I had to think about before saying yes.
At first, I kept telling myself, “Still can walk.” “Maybe just getting older.” “Rest a bit should be okay.”
But slowly I noticed I was making more and more small decisions around my knee — where to park, whether there were stairs, how far I needed to walk, whether there was somewhere to sit.
The knee was not only uncomfortable anymore. It was starting to decide what I did.
Maybe I just need to rest more.
Why are my first few steps always like this?
I used to do this without thinking.
I was not looking for a miracle. I just wanted normal things to stop feeling like decisions.
